So I got to thinking the other day I haven’t really told you much about myself, who I am, my likes and dislikes. If you are interested in that continue reading and if you’re not I completely understand- lol. I have come up with just a handful of questions to answer that’ll hopefully help you get to know me better. Here it goes...
◊ What is your name?
Well I do hope you know my name by now but if you don’t yet not to worry, my name is Elizabeth. I wish I had a really cool story behind my name like “I was named after my brave grandmother” or “I was named after that heroine from that story” but no. Oh well! I have an aunt that wanted my parents to name my older sister Elizabeth but they didn’t so when she was told I was on the way she “suggested” again and this time they gave in- lol.
◊ Any nicknames?
I included this question only because if I ever meet any of you in person you might hear someone call me by my nickname: Ticha. How on the Lord’s good earth did your family get that nickname from Elizabeth, you ask? When I was born my sister couldn’t say Elizabeth, she would say ‘Tichabetty’ then ‘Tichabet’ from that ‘Ticha’ and now ‘Tich’. I wouldn’t be surprised if they started calling me ‘T’, lol. Most everyone calls me by my nickname, family and friends alike. Do I like it? I don’t mind it, and if I ever introduce myself in person I’ll probably say something like “Hi, my name is Elizabeth but every calls me Ticha. Feel free to call me by whatever name makes you feel more comfortable.”
◊ How old are you?
By the grace of God, my heart has been beating for a little over twenty three years! I was born in August of ‘95.
◊ How many siblings do you have?
I have been blessed with two brothers and two sisters. I am the middle child, I have mixed feelings about this.
◊ What is your favorite hobby?
I absolutely love cooking and baking. It brings me such joy and satisfaction when people enjoy what I make. Here’s a tip for you: clean up as you cook/bake. Trust me, it makes clean up seem much easier. Also I love SHOPPING!
◊ How do I make money (to satisfy my shopaholic needs)? Just kidding I’m not a shopaholic I just enjoy shopping every once in a while. But if you are a shopaholic you should go get help, "That's a serious mental problem." -Ev, my sister, that went to school for Substance Abuse Counseling.
Anyway, I am a classroom supervisor at LP Christian Academy. (Not putting the full name of the school for security purposes. Thanks for understanding.) I absolutely enjoy what I do because I love helping kids learn.
◊ Favorite food?
I have too many! *crying face* But I absolutely LOVE hot/buffalo chicken wings! I haven’t tried it yet but I might be able to eat a dozen in a sitting. Will I try it? Possibly? I also love me some good ol’ potatoes in all shapes and forms- french fries, hash browns, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, all the potatoes! Also anything with avocado!
◊ Where is your dream travel destination?
Israel, again. But I would so love to be there for an entire year to experience the different seasons, holidays, feasts, etc. Also Spain or South Korea. Spain because they speak Spanish and I would be able to communicate with people and South Korea because their food just looks so tasty. I dare you to look up Spicy Korean Chicken Wings. Didya drool?
◊ Favorite Bible story?
I don’t even know if it’s possible to have a favorite Bible story, there are too many I like. But currently I’ve been loving and thinking on the story in Luke 5:18-26. The faith of this man’s friends really inspired me to be a friend of faith! Go ahead and read it!
◊ Why did I create Sprinkles & Tea?
There were two main reasons: first, I love to share anything new that I learn with everyone I encounter. Whether it’s a story, a fun fact, an epiphany, etc. So I thought this would be a great way to share all that. The other reason was that I wanted to share my Israel travel experience with family and friends. I don’t have Instagram or Facebook, which is what people tend to use, so I thought I would share stories or pictures on this blog. Now obviously, I haven't shared anything having to do with my trip this year but I am grateful for the opportunity of being able to go once again to the Holy Land in January 2019. I "pinky promise" I will try my absolute best to post as often as I can while in Israel!
◊ What advice can you give to all young ladies?
There is one thing I can say and I say it with all my heart, Put your trust in the Lord. For every decision that you need to make bring it before Him in prayer, trusting that He will work out all things according to His perfect will. Whether it be a decision concerning school, a job, a young man, friends, etc., take it all to the Lord in prayer. Now I will warn you, sometimes you will pray and you won’t get the answer you were hoping for- don’t worry! The Lord knows all things and He wants what is best for you. Maybe that job was going to distant you from Him or that “friend” was being a stumbling block in your walk with the Lord. It may take days or years for us to see what the Lord saved us from. But let me tell you from experience, once you do see, girl, you’ll rejoice and thank the Lord for His tender mercies! So remember to trust in Him.
Well that’s all for today, folks. I hope you enjoyed this Q & A!
