August Favorites

"These are a few of my favorite things..." for the month of August. I found myself using a few new products last month, mostly all natural, and I thought I should share with y'all what I loved the most. I will try my best and link any products if you're interested in purchasing any of them.

o Citrus Infused Water

I've been using essential oils for a little over a year and I love them! But I just recently began adding Lemon oil and Wild Orange oil to my water. Not only does it give water a little pizzazz but it also freshens up your breath. Also, taking lemon oil internally helps with digestion so that's a plus!

Tip: Use glassware or stainless steel when adding essential oils to water, using plastic bottles causes oils to pull toxins from plastic- that's not good for you.

o Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap

My brother introduced me to this soap and I will be forever thankful. I've had eczema since I was a small child, you may or may not know but people with eczema have extremely sensitive skin. So I tend to not use fragranced soaps, lotions, perfumes etc.. I have learned to be cautious with what I apply on my skin. This soap has worked wonderfully for me, the way it lathers so beautifully and relieves my skin from that itching sensation! And listen to this, it is free of artificial fragrances and sulfates!!! I have definitely loved using it. Small warning, the smell is a bit strong because it has no artificial fragrances but I've grown to love it.

o Rosemary Water

Hoping to refresh and brighten your skin? I've got the solution... rosemary water. Just add about half a liter of water and a couple sprigs of fresh rosemary to a pot and allow it to simmer for approximately 7-10 minutes. Let it cool completely. There are different methods that can be used for application; storing rosemary water in a spray bottle and using it as a face mist, soaking a cotton ball and gently dabbing it onto your face, or just rinsing your face with the rosemary water. I prefer to use the cotton ball method on a clean face and allow the rosemary water to air dry completely before applying a moisturizer. Now you may ask yourself- how does this refresh and brighten my skin? Well, rosemary has anti-inflammatory benefits meaning it will reduce any puffiness or swelling in your face. Rosemary also has anti-bacterial properties so it will deep clean your pores, leaving your face squeaky clean. I also use rosemary water to help control my eczema.

o Schwartz Natural Hair Cream

Last but not least; hair cream. (I was not able to find the exact product but did find the product page with other natural products.) My lovely cousin traveled to Israel last year and so kindly brought me this hair cream, she knew the struggle with my frizzy hair was real. I used it only a couple of times before deciding I wasn't too fond of it. That is until I recently decided to give it another chance. I am truly glad I did, when using the right amount of the product it definitely gets rid of the frizz without leaving that "oily/greasy" look on your hair. I've always wondered how some girls curl or straighten their hair without it getting frizzy once stepping out on a humid day. I finally found the solution for my hair- thank you, Jesus!

If you have any natural products you absolutely love and would like to share them with me, please do so! Natural products are the best kind of products!
